Northampton: Where Sibelius Went Wrong

It is a little known fact that Sibelius
Was usually late for lunch;
He’d dally over morning coffee
And help himself to punch,

So by the time his Mrs Hudson
Called him for his mid-day meal,
You’d usually find Sibelius
As legless as an eel.

When sober, he wrote symphonies;
When drunk, he ate his quill;
And when he was slightly squiffy
He just got squiffier still.

His life, according to experts,
Was like a vicious circle,
Though today he is admired by leaders
Such as Mrs Angela Merkel.

He wasn’t as good as Beethoven,
Which is certainly not to diminish
His performance on Nordic Mastermind:
“I’ve started so I’m Finnish.”
