Taking An Interest

BIFF:
Hey, Butch, what’s that you’re readin’?
BUTCH:
This ole thing?  Why, it’s a book about Sweden.
BIFF:
But the book’s called Norway – ain’t that misleadin’?
BUTCH:
Hell, no, Biff – seems like you’ll be needin’
Spectacles if’n you cain’t read the print
On the cover of this book by Olov Klint.
BIFF:
So tell me, Butch, what you’ve learned about Sweden
From this mighty fine book that y’all bin readin’.
BUTCH:
Well, the capital’s Oslo –
BIFF:
                                                Butch, I think you’ll find
That’s Norway you’re talking about, so if’n you don’t mind,
I’m gonna call Sheriff Johnstone, he’ll know what to do,
As I’m reckonin’ this readin’ ain’t healthy for you.
BUTCH:
But Biff, I’s jus’ messin’ – I know Sweden ain’t Norway
So take off your hat and come back from the doorway.
It’s just that your Vera has asked me to git her
Something to make up for that night when I hit her
And she seen this mountain in a catalogue she bought
And this mountain was defended by some kinda fort.

She said if I got her a rock from that mountain
She’d forget about when I held her head for an hour under that fountain.

I want you to know that there’s no girl dearer

To me or my famblee than your sister, Vera,

And when I finally git to that mountain in Stockholm

Why, Biff, I’m darn gonna bring her that rock home!
